In September 2009, I was hired by the social game startup Playfish to join a small developer team with the mission to create a new IP.
We decided to create a real-time multiplayer game based on collaboration.
After arriving on a deserted island, the player would have to collaborate with other players to develop a new civilization.
You could join new communities, explore other island, invite your friends to your island.
Every player actions had an impact on the island environment. Cut a tree, and you will have to wait until it grows back.
We had release several prototypes when Electronic Arts acquired Playfish, and my team was asked to develop the first EA-brand social game, FIFA Superstars.
